Dundee Wedding Photographer

Studio shoots are pretty much all i can do just now in this terrible weather and last week saw a  lovely young girl in my studio for some shots. Jodie Milne is a local hair and make up artist who i contacted through facebook.

 Jodie was great, she was emailing me days before the shoot with all sorts of different ideas. She showed up to the studio with bags filled with different clothes, accessories, hair and make up. This is always a good sign that the shoot is going to go well.

We sat down and had a look through a few images we both liked and wanted to maybe try and re create. Jodie got to work on her hair and make up whilst i set up the lighting and backgrounds. The first couple of shots were taken using the beauty dish and on a black background. The 3rd image saw a wardrobe, hair and make up change and also a different background and light set up. The last image was taken on the black background again with a large octobox is my personal favourite from the day as i just love the eye contact from Jodie. She may look as if she is giving an evil stare but that is just her strong look (she told me it has got her into trouble a few times)

A few hours later and different hair and make up changes and we were both happy with the results we got. Jodie has agreed to work along side me in the future as my hair and make up artist, i’m really excited about this as she is just as passionate as i am about getting great looking images.

I have had a busy last month with keeping my photography up to date, first off was a training day with John Denton at Alan and Morag’s studio in Stirling. The studio was packed full of delegates and we all came away from the day buzzing with new ideas.

A few weeks later it was off to the Landmark hotel in Dundee for a chance to meet multi award winning photographer Damian McGillicuddy. The day was part of the swpp’s training days which they do all over the country, I was really excited about this day as I’ve always wanted to meet Damian but he is so busy and in demand it’s hard to get on any of his training programmes.
The day was jam packed with lots of helpful information and we also got a chance to take shots of the lovely Becky who is so down to earth and as i later found out quite close to me so will be working with her again in the future.

Last week saw me at http://www.yerburystudio.com/ for some boudoir training. I have been to Faye and Trevors before and can honestly say they are the nicest couple i have ever met. Trevor is a 4th generation photographer so is filled with knowledge and a great tutor.
Overall the last few weeks have been fun for me and i am excited to put all of my new knowledge into my photography and keep growing in the future.

After reading a few tattoo magazines i knew i wanted to try out something similar to the images i saw. I put a post up on Facebook to ask for anyone to help out with this that had some good tattoo coverage, after going through many enquiries i found 2 girls that were perfect for the job.
Carol and Carah came to my new studio last week and here is a sample of just some of the images we got.
